Board Chair Laura Randa of Toivoa Coaching witnessed the mental health crisis leave millions—especially those with chronic illnesses—without affordable, timely, evidence-based care amid provider shortages, long waits, and high costs.
During COVID, stress, depression, and anxiety surged, yet these barriers only intensified as qualified mental health professionals remained scarce and overburdened.
Driven by frustration, Laura left her biopharma executive career to transform mental health treatment at scale. Leveraging her experience in product launches and educational program development, she gathered experts in cognitive behavioral therapy, clinical psychology, and coaching to create an NBHWC-accredited program. By training board-certified health and wellness coaches, Toivoa will bridge the treatment gap, delivering accessible, evidence-based support and unlocking new careers in health coaching.
